The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised on 24 October 1962. The ITBP was intended for deployment along the India’s border with the Tibet Autonomous Region. ITBP is considered one of the best mountain forces in the world and is deployed at most extreme and difficult mountain borders of the Himalayas. Apart from border guarding, ITBP also performs duties of preventing trans-border crimes, smuggling, unauthorized entry and exit from India and other illegal activities in its area of responsibility. Battalions were raised during the financial year 2012-13. ITBP acquired land at Kalikiri in Chittoor District, Andhra pradesh for establishing its new formations • Representing Functional character and retaining Arm forces building character – Strength • Maintaining Building aesthetics using local available materials & resources • Effective internal connectivity • Optimum usage of hilly terrain- Temple, recreational spaces • Cross-ventilation & Air circulation by providing Large opening • Adequate natural light- North light • Green cover – trees, parks • Public spaces – open grounds • Sewage water treatment- Anaerobic plant • Utilization of natural resources- Solar street lights • Provision for future expansion
